In a month’s time, the protagonists of third place have changed. The SSG Landers won their fifth straight game and sent the NC Dinos to a six-game losing streak.
SSG Landers won 4-3 at home against the NC Dinos of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at SSG Landers Field in Incheon on May 5.
With the win, SSG extended its winning streak to five games and moved into a tie for fourth place. On the other hand, NC, which lost its sixth straight game after being swept by SSG, dropped to fourth place, losing the top spot it had held since Sept. 7 to the Doosan Bears for about a month. Doosan, who did not have a game on the day, moved up one spot with a fisherman’s jersey.
SSG starter Oh Won-seok earned the win with six innings of three-run ball, while the bullpen of Choi Min-joon, Noh Kyung-eun, and Seo Jin-yong pitched three scoreless innings to preserve the win. At the plate, Ha Jae-hoon led the way with two hits and two runs scored, while the bottom of the order of Kim Sung-hyun, Kim Min-sik, and Kim Chan-hyung combined for three hits.
NC, on the other hand, couldn’t smile after taking the lead. Starter Lee Jae-hak took the loss, giving up four runs on six hits in 4⅔ innings. At the plate, Martin had two hits and one RBI, and Park Gun-woo and Kim Han-byul had one hit apiece, but the offense lacked depth.
NC was the first team to smile. They took the lead in the first inning with Park Min-woo’s single and Martin’s RBI single. In the second inning, Oh Young-soo and Seo Ho-chul singled, Park Se-hyuk sacrificed, and Kim Han-byul grounded out to score one more run. 토토사이트
However, SSG quickly tied the game. In the bottom of the second inning, leadoff hitter Han Yoo-seom was hit by a pitch, followed by Ha Jae-hoon’s double, Kim Sung-hyun’s RBI single, and Kim Min-sik’s sacrifice fly to tie the game at 2-2. SSG came back with a run in the third on a stolen base, a wild pitch, and a groundout, and added a run in the fourth on an RBI single by Kim Chan-hyung to make it 4-2.
NC scored one run in the top of the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly by Park Gun-woo in a bases-loaded situation created by back-to-back singles, a groundout, and a walk, but that was it. They couldn’t overcome the one-run deficit and lost their sixth straight game.
Close call. The two teams split the day’s action, leaving three teams in third and fourth place within half a game of each other. With less than 10 games remaining in the regular season, the three-way battle for a direct playoff spot continues.
