Romelu Lukaku’s ability to complete a move to AS Roma has already begun to be discussed.
“Roma will look to complete a swap deal for Tammy Abraham if Lukaku continues his current form until the end of the season,” reported British outlet TeamTalk on Sunday.
Lukaku’s future has been unclear this summer. He returned to Chelsea in July after his loan spell at Inter Milan ended, but Mauricio Pochettino did not include him in his plans for the season. 안전놀이터
Chelsea were not willing to part with Lukaku. Despite signing him for €113 million in 2021, his performances were disappointing and he openly criticized the club and manager.
Getting rid of him wasn’t easy either. Inter Milan and Juventus were initially touted as possible destinations, but neither could afford to pay Chelsea’s asking price.
Lukaku’s exit from Chelsea was dramatic. Roma signed Lukaku on loan on May 31. Jose Mourinho, who had a priestly relationship with the player at Chelsea and Manchester United, had a lot to do with it.
Mourinho was not wrong. Lukaku has scored three goals in four games across all competitions this season. With three consecutive games on the scoresheet, it looks like he’s fully settled in.
He is now being cautiously linked with a full transfer. According to the report, Roma will buy Lukaku outright if they qualify for the Champions League next season.
The bargaining chip is Abraham. The plan is to offer Abraham to Chelsea, who want to sign a striker, in exchange for Lukaku without spending a fortune.
A swap deal is far from guaranteed. “It is unclear whether Chelsea would welcome Abraham back from a serious knee injury,” the outlet said.
