“I will kill your husband!”
Camille Gravara, 24, a goalkeeper for Danish FC Copenhagen, was vilified by away fans after posting an expletive on social media. She received more than 300 “death threats.
Gravara started the away match against Galatasaray in the first leg of the 2023-2024 UEFA Champions League Group Stage (Group A) at the Rams Global Stadium in Turkkiye Istanbul on Nov. 21 (ET). He was in goal for Copenhagen.
He kept a clean sheet and led 2-0 at the break. However, he conceded back-to-back goals in the 41st and 44th minutes of the second half to deny them the win. In the end, the game ended 2-2, leaving them with a point. They were outnumbered after right-back Elias Yellert Christensen was sent off in the 28th minute for a straight red card.
After the game, Gravara expressed his disappointment on social media. He posted a photo of the Copenhagen players standing side by side and wrote: “We deserved three points in a dirty place, but we didn’t get it. But that’s life. Let’s move on,” he wrote. He expressed his disappointment at having to settle for a draw after taking the lead.
Galatasaray fans were “extremely angry” in protest of Gravara’s use of the phrase “dirty place”. They were angered by the phrase as a slur, sending death threats on Gravara’s social media and direct messages to his wife, Dominika Lovak, after Gravara blocked her social media comments. “We are going to kill your husband. 메이저사이트 All you have to do is wait,” one message read.
A native of Poland, Grabara represented Poland’s age-group national team and played one A-match. He also played for Liverpool in the English Premier League from 2016 to 2021. He has been loaned out to several clubs and has been in goal for Copenhagen since 2021.
Meanwhile, Copenhagen are tied for second place in Group A after picking up a point against Galatasaray. In Group A, Kim Min-jae’s Bayern Munich of Germany took the lead with a 4-3 win over Manchester United of England in the first leg.
