Yoris-Dyer stays, but will be on EPL roster for now

Hugo Lloris and Eric Dier have been added to Tottenham Hotspur’s English Premier League (EPL) roster for the 2023-2024 season after being linked with moves this summer that did not materialize.

Tottenham Hotspur announced its 25-man EPL roster for the 2023-2024 season on its official website on Thursday. The deadline to register players for the first half of the 2023-2024 season was 2 p.m. local time on Dec. 13.

The EPL roster is limited to 25 players who are 21 years of age or older. The roster must include at least eight “homegrown” players who trained in England or Wales for three seasons or 36 months before turning 21.

Tottenham had more than 17 adult players who did not qualify as homegrown going into the final day of the EPL transfer window, but trimmed the roster before registering players. The club sent Sergio Reguilon to Manchester United on a deadline day loan and later sent Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele (Galatasaray) to Turkkiye, where the transfer window has not yet closed.

However, Yoris and Dier, who had been rumored to be on their way out early on, were not sold. Yoris himself declared a new challenge after the end of last season. Speaking to French media, he said that despite having a year left on his contract, it was time to part ways for the sake of the club and his own future. Tottenham decided to honor Yossi’s wishes after his longtime commitment to the club. They brought in Guglielmo Vicario as a replacement and replaced the captain with Son Heung-min, but Yoris was unable to find a new team. There were offers from Saudi Arabia, France, Italy, and others, but he rejected them because the terms weren’t right.

Dier was first wanted by Tottenham. Due to his recent mistakes, he was not included in the plans of new coach Enzi Postecoglou. He was once considered a leader in the team, but he was also left out of the new squad. He only had one year left on his contract, and although he’s an English national, he grew up in Portugal and doesn’t fall under the ‘homegrown’ rule. 먹튀검증 The club wanted to part ways with Dyer for a number of reasons, but he wanted to stay and compete for a loan move.

Both players remained with the team until after the deadline, and both were added to the EPL roster.
