The KIA Tigers have won their ninth straight game in a whopping 3730 days.
The Tigers won 7-1 against the Doosan Bears in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on June 6.
The Tigers have now won nine games in a row, dating back to the 24th of last month. It’s the first time in 10 years and three months that KIA has won nine games in a row. It took 3730 days from June 8 to June 20, 2013, when Sun Dong-yeol was at the helm.
With a season record of 57 wins, 2 losses and 50 draws, KIA increased its lead over sixth-place Doosan (55 wins, 1 loss and 56 draws) to four games, boosting its chances of qualifying for the postseason.
Meanwhile, Doosan, which failed to catch up to fifth-place KIA, saw its winning percentage drop to 5 percent for the season.

KIA took the lead in the top of the third inning when Na Sung-bum hit a two-run home run (his 15th of the season) over the right field fence with runners on first and second, his third home run of the season against all opponents, joining Noh Si-hwan (Hanwha) and Jose Pirela (Samsung).
KIA came out on fire once more in the top of the fourth inning. With runners on first and third, Park Chan-ho singled and Kim Do-young followed with a two-run homer over the left field fence.
