Son Heung-min is the new captain of Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur announced the appointment of their new captain on their official website on Wednesday (June 12). Son Heung-min, who joined the club in the summer of 2015 and is entering his ninth season with the club, will serve as captain. He will be supported by Christian Romero and James Maddison as vice-captains. He is only the second South Korean player to be named an official captain in the English Premier League (EPL) since Park Ji-Sung of Queens Park Rangers.
Tottenham have a leadership vacuum this summer. Longtime captain Hugo Lloris is set to leave the club, although his destination has not yet been confirmed.
